Please allow me to introduce myself...I am Nettie!

Hey Everyone. You may not know me yet, but thats okay. I am going to take some time to introduce myself and allow you to slowly fall in love with me <3

Here is some basic information about me:

I am a ready-to-adopt 5 year old pit bull mix. I am a beautiful caramel tan color and have the softest velvet like fur under my chin. I am already spayed and micro-chipped. Since I am middle-aged, I don't have the crazy puppy energy but I sure love chasing sticks and playing with stuffed squeaky toys. With some small corrections, I walk wonderfully on the leash. I immediately lay down quietly in the backseat of someone's car and enjoy the trip. I know "sit down", "settle", and "paw". I am learning a new command called "watch me". My pen-pal, Shelly, says that I have a lot of dog interest and become easily distracted if there is a dog in my vision, no matter how far away. She is using yummy treats to get my attention and is encouraging me to stare into her pretty green eyes for the treats. She says this will encourage me to focus my attention in positive places.

I love belly rubs! I love toys that squeak! I love laying near you while you are relaxing! I love being independent and will approach you for rubs and scratches!

My Pen Pal and I have been working together for about three weeks. We have gone on two outings to Wissinoming Park and have spent hours outside playing in the runs. I love the car ride, I love picking up sticks along the way. I enjoy long walks and being a medium energy dog, that's really all the exercise I am looking for. I am not really a jogging type of dog.

So, keep an eye out on my blog. See what I am learning and what I am perfecting. Like Shelly said, "sit" and "paw" are fool-proof! "Watch me" is my going to be my next command that I will have down perfectly! We will keep you updated!
